DescriptionPosition: Manager Marketing & Sales
Location: Stellarton, Nova Scotia
Supervisor: AVP Sales Northeast Region
Responsibilities:
Position is directly responsible for identifying and securing rail traffic from new and existing customers.
Primary liaison between customers and company on commercial and operational matters.
Negotiate freight contracts with customers and connecting railroads.
Prepare traffic summaries and projections (including revenue projections) for budgeting and control purposes.
Represents company at various levels of customer, government and rail association meetings.
Travel to include overnight travel approximately 30%-40% of the time, as required
Qualifications:
Prior experience in rail freight transportation sales and/or marketing HIGHLY preferred
College degree strongly preferred, advanced degree in a relevant field a plus
Proven negotiating skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a team
Strong analytical skills. Prior rail pricing experience preferred.
Proficiency with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and internet search techniques desired
Knowledge of the commodities handled in the geographic region, a plus.
Valid drivers license required
