Job Summary:
? Responsible for the overall distribution center function, including raw materials receiving, storage, inventory control, and shipments.
? Ensures the on-time delivery of customer orders and cost-effective use of personnel, equipment, inventories, and SAP.
? Ensures all necessary physical and electronic documentation is properly prepared and sent per customer expectations. This includes SAP deliveries, bills of lading, packing lists, export documents, and advanced shipping notices.
? Ensures just-in-time material delivery to and from plant.
? Coordinates with production planning to ensure raw materials are received on time and in sufficient quantity to meet production requirements / customer demand.
? Drives continuous improvement via visual management techniques, new software implementations, and process flow optimization.
? Responsible for departmental budgets.
? Ensures that internal and external customers’ needs are met  
? Selects, motivates, trains, and developments competent departmental staff. Monitors departmental personnel and ensures they conform to company policies, procedures, and standards.
? Responsible for inventory accuracy. Uses monitoring systems such as cycle counts to understand and correct root causes of variances.
? Significant focus on inventory reduction to achieve and maintain world class inventory levels / turns.
? Develops, plans, and formulates policies, objectives, and operating goals.
? Develops and maintains effective relationships with representatives of the material suppliers and with carriers.
? Monitors all contractors, sub-contractors and vendors to ensure that they conform to company policies, procedures, and standards.
? Manages the most economical inbound and outbound transportation routes. Looks for opportunities to combine shipments, milk runs, etc.
? Establishes optimum storage locations and handling methods.
? Utilizes lean concepts like Kanban cards, pull systems, FIFO throughout the warehouse / production interface as appropriate.
? Determines appropriate equipment and containers necessary to properly load, unload, move, and store materials.

Key Performance Indicators:
? Customer On Time Delivery / Delivery Ratings (including Customer Complaints)
? ASN Accuracy
? Gross Inventory Value / Days On Hand
? Inventory Accuracy
? Minimal Expedited Freight

Minimum Requirements: 
? 5+ years warehouse supervision and management.
? Excellent math and computer skills
? High school diploma.
? Excellent problem solving skills.
? In depth understanding of MRP systems, including SAP.
? Experience with forklifts, overhead cranes, stretch wrappers, computers, and customer specific software.
