Global Tier I automotive co. is looking for a Logistics Engineer. Primary focus will include: packaging and warehouse planning, material flow planning, advise on design and implementation of logistics IT systems, building expansion and layout design and process implementation and optimization.
Help develop business logistics plans, including vehicle, routines, packing measurements, working position apparatus, etc.
Responsible for on-site management of logistics and storage, organizing product sequencing and delivery;
Responsible for on-site management of tooling equipment;
Docking with customers directly and tracking management;
Designing logistics plans and organizing to implement them effectively;
Design and maintain material handling systems to optimize operator efficiency and effective use of floor space.
Create/maintain work standards for physical logistics functions utilizing industrial engineering principles.
Design, document, and implement warehouse layouts for future products and business plan changes.
Support new product launches with component and finished good material movement strategies.
Lead and support Continuous Improvement Project (CIP) activities and Goal Deployment objectives.
Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage projects and contractors to ensure adherence with corporate and plant directives.
Accountability for cost adherence to planned budgets and primary lead to insure meeting plant objectives
Manage capital procurement and documentation processes and equipment purchasing utilizing approved systems for warehouses.
