Seeking a talented Logistics Manager for a fast-paced location within a profitable and growing industry leader. The company’s strategically located facilities are some of the most technologically advanced in the industry. They service a variety of industries including Automotive, HVAC, Agriculture, Appliance, Construction, Energy, Food Service, and more.
The Logistics Manager is responsible for soliciting vendors for competitive pricing in all areas of Logistics and Transportation, and will lead negotiating efforts to achieve annual cost savings.  This position is the liaison between vendors and the company.
  • Quoting and awarding of all facets of logistics and transportation of materials.
  • Obtain quotations and negotiate leasing and purchasing of vehicles.
  • Lead internal cost savings projects to reduce costs.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with vendors.
  • Maintain pertinent vendor information and interactions within CRM data base.
  • Travel as needed to vendor and company locations in US, Canada and Mexico (expected travel 15%+).
  • Prepare spend reports demonstrating target goals/actuals and savings completed.
  • Collaborate with internal company personnel in business that requires components to be quoted as a part of finished product.
  • Achieve targeted annual cost savings on logistics and transportation spend.
  • 4-year degree in relevant field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics and transportation with a proven track record of year over year achieved savings.
  • Project and program management.
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, CRM, and general business software. 
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and writing skills to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, and company leadership.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Willingness/ability to travel 15% or more.
